Yunle Chen is a founding partner of YA+ Atelier and a multidisciplinary designer working across architecture and interiors. He holds a Master of Architecture from the University of Toronto’s John H. Daniels Faculty of Architecture, Landscape, and Design, as well as a Bachelor of Interior Design from Toronto Metropolitan University.

Yunle’s professional experience spans residential, commercial, cultural, institutional, and public projects at a range of scales. His work has involved projects from early concept and schematic design through design development, tender documentation, and coordination. He has also contributed to and led several architectural design competitions.

His design approach brings together spatial clarity, material sensitivity, and an understanding of how people experience and use space. With particular interests in adaptive reuse, social infrastructure, sustainability, and public life, Yunle seeks to create thoughtful and context-responsive environments that balance design ambition with practical requirements.

At YA+ Atelier, Yunle leads concept design, spatial planning, architectural visualization, and project coordination across the studio’s residential, interior, and exploratory design work.
